Field Notes
When does a grocery basket actually count as complete?
Warehouse boards and product dashboards often disagree on “completed baskets.” One team counts any order that leaves the dark store; the other waits for payment confirmation plus zero open substitution prompts.
In reviews across Selangor and Penang, the cleanest definition we have seen is: a basket is complete when payment succeeds and every line is either picked as ordered, substituted with shopper acceptance recorded, or refunded before dispatch. Anything still awaiting a shopper reply stays incomplete — even if the tote is already on a shelf.
Write the definition on one page, pin it where pickers stand, and only then compare weekly charts. Otherwise you will keep “fixing” a rate that was never shared.
